A National Historic Landmark (one that's said to be haunted), Big Trees Lodge (formerly Wawona Hotel) is located just a few miles from the south entrance of Yosemite National Park. Open seasonally, the hotel offers charm from a bygone era, with a grand front porch where parents sip cocktails and watch kids play outside in the evenings. Families may choose accommodations with private baths, or less expensive rooms with shared bathrooms. The hotel also offers a "Create a Suite" option, in which families and groups may book a group of adjacent rooms and share a bathroom.

The Ferguson Fire is reported this morning at 96,457 acres with 86% containment. Yosemite Valley will open tomorrow to Visitors on Tuesday, August 14th, at 9:00 a.m. The Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias will open today, Monday, August 13th.
Highway 120 is open from both the west and east entrance and visitors have full access to Tioga Road via the Highway 120 entrances. All trails and campgrounds along Tioga Road, including the Tuolumne Meadows Campground remain open. All visitor services along Tioga Road, including the High Sierra Camps and visitor services near Tuolumne Meadows remain open. All guest should check road information prior as road conditions can change.

Road Information
• Highway 120 is open from both entrances on Highway 120.
• Highway 140 is open from Mariposa to Cedar Lodge and Yosemite View Lodge.
• Highway 140 east from the entrance of Yosemite National Park to Yosemite Valley is open to residents only. There is no visitor access to Yosemite Valley.
• Highway 41 is closed.
